Fluttering by Krakentastic Fluttering by Krakentastic
This small humming bird was a joy to watch. The ranch my girlfriend and I stayed at a ranch that is one of the preeminent humming bird sites in the USA! It was a real treat.

I've seen them only once in a zoo, but the two pictures I took were not very good. This one is really beautiful! :D

It was easier for me here. It was a breading location for them. There were literally thousands that came by throughout the day!

That sure is a unique chance!! I wish they were breading here! Must have been a wonderful sight all these thousands of hummingbirds!! :D

It was pretty amazing to be sure, though to be fair it was only about 5-25 at a feeder at a given time, but just a constant flow over 6 feeders over 24 hours that brings the tally to thousands, but still, super cool ;)

That would have been ideal for sure, unfortunately the backdrop from the other side of the bird feeder wasn't very pretty ;)

He was definitely posing, but he was also play hide and seek.

He kept hiding behind the feeder then peaking out, then hiding... wash, rinse, and repeat, lol ;)

the photo I have always wanted to take - amazing! I love the really short depth of field - the mottled green is a really nice background. Incredible!

Thanks! :) It was a real pain to get focus on it all, it was a really lucky shot that it wasn't a total blur in every frame.
